Culture Factory began as a dream of two local arts administrators who believed in the importance of providing opportunities for local and emerging musicians and artists of all kinds to perform, present, or exhibit. The initial idea was to present a small, one-act festival; however, as the years went by, this idea took flight and developed into a push for a full-blown multi-arts festival featuring art of different genres with an emphasis toward the edgy and unconventional.
In June 2010, CK on the Edge was born: an 11-day multi arts festival that featured everything from Celtic music to edgy installation art exhibits to art with wine. The festival held 29 shows and managed to attract over 5,000 visitors. Needless to say the festival was a great success.
Step forward to 2012. This year marks the second year of the festival and with it has come a renewed sense of excitement fuelled by the festival’s new brand and all of the amazing acts and performances we will be bringing in this year. We are proud to introduce CULTURE FACTORY. It is our goal that this year’s festival will be even bigger and better than the last.
