Join Culture Factory this Thursday, August 30th at the William Street Cafe for Poetry Slam Workshop: An evening of Spoken Word performed by London Spoken Word Artists Holly Painter, Inali Barger and Jeff Drennan. Since performing her first spoken word piece in June 2011, Holly has won four of the five slams she performed in at the London Poetry Slam for the 2011-2012 season, she capped off the slam season with a win at the LPS Finals event in April, naming her Grand Slam Champion.
Inali Barger is a 21-year-old poet, spoken word artist, and a firm believer that personal and creative expression makes and breaks the world. She is a regular performer on the London Slam scene. She made the season finals for the first time at age 18, Featured as a poet laureate of Owen Sound in 2010, and has made the 2012 London Slam Team that will compete nationally in October.
Jeff ‘Bo Gus’ Drennan
Bo Gus has been writing and performing poetry and music for over a decade. He has three hip-hop albums and was a member of the 2009 London Poetry Slam team. He also facilitates school and community poetry workshops and helped in establishing and promoting the London Youth Poetry Slam.
